'Tetris Effect' is a brainteaser!

In high school, I played a lot of Tetris on the Gameboy in the 1980s and early 1990s. I wasn't prepared when I bought Tetris Effect last year and only just got around to playing it.
Turn down the lights, put on a good pair of headphones, open your favourite beverage, and prepare to let go. The lighting, the backdrops, and the MUSIC, all of which are in perfect harmony with the gameplay. Combining this interesting design with the intense gameplay Tetris is known for, I went into a trance.
And therein lays the stumbling block. To beat all of the levels on normal, you'll need a lot of skill. The speed picks up out of nowhere, and you're immediately in survival mode. Set aside the score! Some of those boards put me to the test, but it wasn't until the last one, Metamorphosis, that I began to doubt my ability to complete it.
90 lines, with the last third at maximum level. When I realised I was coming near to the maximum level point, I could feel my heart start to accelerate. This board must have been played at least 30 times by me. So many close calls: 88/90 lines, When I made a mistake, I would always choke. Then it happened...while I was in survival mode, attempting to get those dang blocks to fit SOMEWHERE. The colour on the screen exploded. As all of my anxiety and concentration went from me at once, I actually cried a little. What a therapeutic experience, made even better by the fact that it immediately transitions into a psychedelic feast for the eyes and ears. It's perfect.
If only I had a VR headset...
